That's a weird one that goes against the "rules" too. Tell me a story.

Not so fast - in this case it might be more the fault of the photographer than the coin. The toning I believe is album toning - With the piece in hand as we speak, it's very obvious that the toning started from the outer edges and worked itself in, particularly visible on the obverse. The toning does not overflow the rims, which though somewhat obscured by the slab, show a gun metal grey all the way around on both sides. The toning also stops at the tops of the letters, you can see the difference in TRUST on the obverse relatively easily. The general red/purple/blue/golden brown coloration on this coin would not raise an eyebrow whatsoever on a Morgan. On a 1963 Frankie? Definitely unusual! image

Frank, I was messing with you. Truthfully? I don't always go with the set diagnostics. Many Morgans don't meet these set deals and are stone original. I pointed this out to you in previous threads but you probably didn't listen. I'm used to that though. image BTW, that word you folks use for Franklins is chapping my hide like the word some use for new purchases. If you know what I mean. You find me a nicely toned 55 yet?

I actually saw a nice 55 tonite and thought of you - but then I honestly thought "nah - not quite good enough" so the search for a worthy one continues image
