yeah i saw it. the stupidity is always the same, superior thinks that $$$ makes the coin-world go 'round. it's just possible that someone really, really liked the coin, & the price did not matter. ever heard that before? what's really sad is how they ignorantly quote "greysheet", blah blah blah. stuperior sux.
There is only one seller more arrogant than TAGZ, and we all know who she is and she doesn't like her picture taken.
You are either grossly mistaken or on another of your little personal vendettas. Her worst attributes are that she can be grumpy and a pain, neither of which even remotely qualifies her as arrogant.
What's with all the tilting at windmills with a chip on your shoulder? You really do need to get over it and move on with your life......
I saw that coin..its was pretty darn cool..i dont think dave will lose anything on it but doubt that he bought it to resell...he is building a real, real fine set of commems..the best costs a lot.. Bruce Scher
These are sort of sleazy auction house tactics. Any other auction house could come up with a similar list. Will this make me ever consider Superior to consign too? Nope. Enough said.
It sounds like the six bidders bid up the price and that it wasn't just one uninformed buyer getting the shaft. It is crazy money, but it sounds like the heat of an auction between knowledgeable parties doing the bidding.
A person who has $69,000 in disposable income for coins, probably has $69,000 that if lost want ruin his/her life either.

The bidding war included a number of renouned dealers who also do not bid stupid. When you
have coins of extraordinary beauty and grade rarity, then the price pain is something outside of the normal
pricing rules. I do not believe that the objective of the new owners was to make a profit, however, I believe that
the coins will ened up being solid investment vehicles in the future. All of the publicity is a definite plus to that end.
