I have a friend who posts over on RCC who is into Franklin halves. He sent this into PCGS, who has just graded it a 64.

I can't wait to get this coin back!
Here is some background info on the coin. I acquired it from a guy who said that he purchased it from a small mom & pop shop in Ohio. He said that it resided in a whitman folder type set and that the owner said it has sat in there for the past 40 years or so. He said that most of the other coins were toned black.

<< <i>Hey Jason, nice to see you over here, didn't know you signed up. Well so far, it appears everyone likes it! >>
Been a member for almost a full year but have been a lurker. I haven't spent much time on these boards but what I see is mostly advanced discussion. You know I like to chew the fat a bit and that is mainly why I stick to RCC .... no moderator and you can say what you feel like saying. The drawback though is that with no moderator the trolls come out of the wood work!
Thanks again and thanks to everyone who has had all the nice things to say about my new beauty.

I'm no expert but I think that what you see as wear on the reverse is nothing more then a weakly struck lower left quadrant of the bell.

If you think of it turn on your PM function. Then go look for the new beauty I posted here this afternoon.

Edited to add P.S.: Eric introduced me to this place, too.

PS...blame Eric for me being here as well.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Great coin bytheway

What other avatar could I use? I live in Oregon *and* at the end of the Lewis and Clark trail
<< <i>Hi Jason! Now you know where I've posting for the last year or so, instead of r.c.c. - I find I can get in less trouble here.

Well I think I just turned that function on but I don't know for sure. I don't know how to use it.
<< <i>I like it over here because they have the open forum for those who want to duke it out over politics. For the most part, the US coin forum stays pretty much on topic. >>
Yeah, for some reason, oh, I can't imagine why...a moderated troll-free atmosphere appeals to me right about now!
