I have the feeling that nothing new will be unveiled this week..

OK, a lame start I know. But, I think I will be right
I would hope that PSA would come out with better tamper-proof holders, but I think it's months down the road before we see anything new on that front.

you down on the proposition of implants??
Regarding tamper-proof holders-- I do think that PSA needs to take
better steps at making their holders more tamper-evident, as
well as better educating the collector with how to spot a holder that's
been tampered with. However, I don't think it's a good idea to make a
holder that's tamper-proof, and I don't think that PSA would ever
consider the idea.
I think that the majority of collectors would like to have the ability
to crack the card out of the holder (without ruining the card) for a
variety of reasons. If they think it has a chance at a higher grade,
they'd want to resubmit (more revenue for PSA, too). If PSA ever went
out of business, most would probably want their cards in an active
company's slab -- another reason to crack a card. Finally, when you
buy a graded card, you should simply have the ability to bust it out
to hold it raw, to feel it, smell it, whatever. My 1.5 cents...

<< <i>Yep, I agree CW....a change of vernacular is in order. Tamper-evident it is! >>
That's cool. I guess I could've asked you to clarify before I started
preaching to the choir. I can see how the term "tamper-proof" could be
interpreted in different ways, and I simply misunderstood you.
Now if only PSA would set up a webpage, with descriptive images,
explaining how to spot a holder that's been tampered with...
<< <i>I've heard that holders cloud up a little when cracked - can anybody post pic of their own that might shed a little light on this? >>
yep, the edges cloud up, or frost, when opened. Most of the people
on these boards, like yourself, already have an idea of what to look
for. It's the new collectors of PSA graded cards that might not know
this fact, which is why I've always suggested that PSA put up a more
visually appealing description of what to look for. Heck, while they're
at it, chicks in bikinis wouldn't hurt!
