Does anyone know anything about these 1960 "Canadian Coins of the Year Club" mint sets????

Is this the way the mint sets were issued or are these a special set???????

Remind me and I will PM you the number of a Canadian dealer I know. He might know something.

I believe that is how the Mint Sets were issued. According to Charlton " The black stamp 'ROYAL CANADIAN MINT/ OTTAWA CANADA' appears on some 1960 holders. If you are interested in selling I'm interested in buying.

I don't think the black stamped ones are rarer, well maybe rarer but not more valuable. I don't see too many of these with the original envelope.

I've seen a lot of RCM 1960 sets with and without the black stamp - no price difference. This is the first I've seen with that label - very interesting.

I wonder if it was applied by the club (not the mint) for a special occaision - note the label has a Saskatchewan address.

I don't know Gene, maybe that was where the coin club was that the set was packaged for??????
