Honus Wagner Card ??

Can anyone tell me when Topps did the reprint set. I had a card shop owner tell me yesterday about a lady that came to his shop with what he thinks might be an authentic one.He knows that I collect vintage,so he gave her my number and she just got off the phone with me.Seems this card was purchased in 1991 at an old warehouse that was used as an indoor flea market once a month for a year or so.Wouldn't it be cool to be part of a find of this magnitude? I am going to see this card tomorrow and will give a report tomorrow night.Also,are there any nuances that I should be on the lookout for? The card has blue printing on the back.

    1995 was the reprint, also it says wagner estate on the back lower bottom...

    Even if it is real,it is out of my league.I will however,buy the second and third round anyway. Sorry that I haven't gotten back to you,been real busy.I see where you are kicking on your 55 set.Way to go !!

    VIC - There are a brand of reprints taken from a book of famous Baseball cards. They are easy to spot...They have the prices printed on the back of the cards. The prices are low compared to todays going rate, but still some people think that they are real and were printed w/ the card value on them...jay

    if it is real, you just need to let me know...I can have money wired in minutes ...I believe a handsome finders fee can be worked out!!!

    From what this lady tells me,there is not a price printed on it.I am going to see the card on Monday and I will see if I can get a picture of both sides and post it on this thread.It really sounds like it has a shot at being legit.

    i'm confused. which Honus card are you talking about? the only Topps cards i remember of him are the '51 AS, the '67 "Retirado", and possibly a 1948 Magic Photo

    Thanks for the pics.I am fairly certain that this is not the card that she has just from her description.I am getting more excited by the minute as I think about this situation.I will certainly relay your offer to buy if it turns out to be real.

    the other night felicia and I were watching a honus wagner movie on TNT and I said could you imagine if I found one of those...and here we are a week later and tipem comes on the boards and discusses a lady that poss has "THE" card...hummmmm.......I eagerly await your return and post on the results

    SCD put out a reprint in 1986, but it's an easy spot, thin stock, red Sweet Caporal back, Krause 1986 in small print.

    Be careful that it's not the "spinning" version! image

    I wish I had saved that file on my computer image. Does anyone have it saved and care to post it?
