How many seconds did it take you to ascertain that?

Actually, it took me a few minutes to find my VAM book, which I used earlier today to figure out what ibzman had. There are a lot of 78 VAMs, but I'm pretty sure on this one because there are only a couple of 7/8 with four feathers showing that match. Mrdq's coin has the blobs on the E and P on the obverse.

Looks like a VAM 37 to me also. The spikes in front of Liberty's eye and the broken point on right star #4 nails it.

NGC ms61 I bought a long time ago i thought it was a higher vam but I missed the E P diagnostics on the obverse

I can see why that got a 61, there are some deep digs in some of the primary focal areas. Still, with the pleasant toning, it is a very nice looking coin. I think the VAM 37 is the most common of the 7/8 strong varieties.

I bought it 15 years ago and it was BLAST white so that's all NGC holder toning (thank god the guy rinsed it well after dipping it)
