ebay question

why do multiple positive feedbacks from one person only count as one positive towards your total feedback? it isn't a true representation of your feedback.

  • Because people use to abuse the old policy. They would buy 1cent lots from the same person and build up their feedbacks real quick. In the old days you could just leave feedback for anything (like you have a cool user name etc). I think the policy should be changed to 1 month then you can receive another +1 from buying/selling from the same seller.

In the really old days, you didn't even to complete a transaction to leave feedback.

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.
  • It does only show up as feedback in the number next to your screen name, but if you click on the number, you can see the total positive feedback, which does include multiple feedback from the same person.

I believe that reason it is in place is because of what Tipem pointed out. In the real old days you did not need to even complete a transaction to leave feedback. With that policy in place they put in that only 1 feedback would be counted from each separate user.

I like the one month idea. I tend to buy from the same few dealers (a lot), so my feedback isn't accurately displayed. Also, many of the same people are repeat customers of mine as a seller. Ebay should really factor this into their equation.
