    Russ: It's pretty incredible to see the ultra-deep thick cameo frost evident on the upper photo vs. the lower photo which barely even looks cameo.

    Excellent photography is essential to clearly image high grade coins via the internet to leverage potential sales.

    I remember the coin. I expect the truth lies somewhere in-between. What's most difficult is to actually get the picture to look like the coin. I'll bet neither pic does.
    Developing theory is what we are meant to do as academic researchers

    I completely agree. The images are at the two extremes. If I were the consignor to Teletrade, though, I'd be more than a little pissed at that half-assed effort they put in. They are capable of much better.

    Damn! That certainly is a big difference. I'd be pissed if I bought it expecting it to look like the first pic and have it end up looking like the second. How are you supposed to avoid this? Is there any such thing as a refund for a disappointing coin purchase on ebay???
