The PSA scammer i found before is back!

PSA did absolutely nothing to kick this guy off ebay he stopped all his auctions on his own and simply switched to another id. I dont know his new name off the top of my head ive talked to vincecarder and he is going to post scans of his auctions.

  • The scammer (he cracks PSA cases and puts fake labels in them) is back with a NEW user name: eotb13

Basically waited alittle while then used another name to pawn off his fake label cards. Check out his auctions Scammers auctions

He is trying to hide the snow from the holders by taking photos on a carpet.

The main giveaway is the listing of the Jordan PSA 10 as well as the Roberto Alomar PSA 8. He pulled those auctions when he was discovered on here. If you want to look at his old Ebay user name it's sportsfan_99 Also, his auction format is very similar to his old ebay user auctions. As usual, PSA has done nothing to prevent scammers like this to still exist, only concerned board members spreading the word on here help at least stop them selling crap. Probably wait another month and come back with another user name.

So, then, are those cert numbers invalid? That should be enough to get his auctions pulled from Ebay. Let's get to work!

I guess you didn't see the old thread on this guy. What he does is watch auctions with REAL PSA graded cards. He then takes note of their PSA serial numbers and prints off FAKE labels with those numbers. He cracks cases with the lower graded cards and slips in the label in that case. If you look up the number on PSA it's the correct serial number. Plenty of people were scammed but the labels do look different. The problem is people are so secure with buying PSA cards that they don't even question them. The cases are NOT secure and can be easily broken into and have jerks like this switch the labels.

This looks like another potential WIWAG ordeal and I think PSA should intervene and get the FBI out on this guy.

I think it's pretty sad when people think they're safe when they buy a PSA graded card. Their new holders seem more secure and the slighest stress from a knife, flat head screwdriver, etc to try to open/pop out the card will show all that fog or cloud residue on the holder's edges. That's the dead giveaway that the holder has been tampered. Popping out a card is one thing, but switching them is another......he's going further as to make his own labels?

How can we get PSA on this to do something? Ebay isn't going to do jack turd.

  • I think PSA should be emailing the bidders instead of us. They did nothing before and hence, the guy is still up to his old tricks. Why should we do their job for them? Every time I see something like this I just want to sell all my cards and get out completely. You buy ungraded and people think the cards are trimmed, you buy graded and people think the holders have been cracked open and the cards switched. I was really hoping they would have stepped up to the plate and done something the last time. But obviously they didn't!image

    I agree 100% with you!

  • I think the top bidder (mickey2013) is the seller's other ebay ID.

Unbelievable. Memo to PSA-- It's time to pay someone to spin around in his swivel chair, pick up the phone, and DO something! These are YOUR holders that are being tampered with, which means-- fairly or otherwise-- that it's YOUR reputation that's going to take a beating if this stuff continues. The '63 Rose thing is bad enough, and now you've got a clown printing your flips on his ink-jet printer. Nobody here cares if you're going to start grading autographed baseballs, old jock straps, or whatever-- what we DO care about is that you make a concerted effort to preserve the integrity of your holders, and by extention the millions of dollars that PSA collectors have invested in your slabs. If you're going to take the $60,000,000 or so that people have spent getting their cards slabbed, you can at least reinvest some of that in making sure that these monies have been well spent, and that the investments they've had slabbed are secure and can be traded online with confidence.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again-- it's an embarrassment that PSA doesn't participate in these boards more often. I know it's just another manifestation of their crappy customer service policies, so I can grudgingly accept it, but I can't believe they won't pay someone 13 bucks an hour, part time, to post on these boards and offer candid responses to the concerns of their customers. It just baffles me. The very real issues surrounding the '63 Rose? We've heard nothing. WIWAG? Again, nothing. This moron with his busted slabs? Apparently PSA doesn't even know the problem exists. Cards being trimmed and resubmitted, AND reslabbed? I dont' know if this is a real problem or not, but you could assuage our fears by at least commenting on it.

You may be on top now, but you WILL NOT STAY THERE if this BS continues. If a rash of '62 Mantles and '56 Clementes come to market, all being offered by the same guy who counterfeited your slab with the '63 Rose, you can safely assume that the average collector will be a little leary of shelling out ten dimes for one of your slabs in the future. Which means, amongst other things, that you won't make a fraction of the money you're currently making on crackouts, and that you'll see a substantual decrease in submissions as people become less confident in the integrity of your holder. Do you do the best job right now of all the major grading companies? Absolutely. You do a better job of spotting altered cards than Beckett, and your grading standards are applied more consistenly than GAI's. But the only thing keeping SGC from nipping at your heels are their bizarre centering standards, and who knows what other companies may come down the pike in the next few years.

For God's sake, folks, GET WITH THE PROGRAM! This stuff doesn't just 'go away' if you ignore it long enough. Look at the WIWAG debacle- people still bring that up every day on these forums, despite your reluctance to enter the dialogue. If you think idiots like sportsfan99 are going to disappear if you just click your heels hard enough you need to adjust your paradigm. Instead, in the absence of swift and decisive action on your part, you will see more sleazy college students trimming Lebron RC's and sneaking them past your graders, or printing their own flips and inserting them in your holders. I know, I know-- this shouldn't be your problem. But is IS your problem because it jeopardizes the value of the cards in your holders, which is the foundation upon which PSA rests. If nobody wants to spend sick money on mint commons, you're screwed. So put down the Krispy Kremes, screw the cap back on the 20 oz Pepsi, and start thinking about what YOU can do it ensure that this kind of behavior doesn't become an epidemic.
  • i agree 100%. let everyone come out and bust my chops, but oh well. take a glance at the sgc boards sometime. the people over there care about psa and its problems more than psa itself, so it seems. no hating, just people truly concered about companies reputations and the grading business as a whole. more trash talk about psa goes on here, their own boards, than at sgc. go figure? if buyers can't feel safe with #1, why would they feel safe with #2 or 3. so all grading companies lose business. i used to be an absolute 100% psa man, but everyday there is something new. why should i bother (plus i have to shell out $100 just to send them more money to have my cards graded). i just sent in my first sgc submission. it is an outstanding deal, 1970s to present, ANY CARD, $5 each with a 20 day turnaround and no minimum.

if this winds up being my last post by the powers that be, it was fun but i wonder why i stayed so long. for years, still no TRUE info on WIWAG, holders that are far below the other 3 top companies that arrived after them, people counterfieting flips, didn't get the grade i want, i'll just crack it out and resubmit. it goes on and on. but when is it gonna be enough?

  • Hey so this post must have worked.....the guy ended all of his auctions. Either was tipped off or PSA stepped up. If PSA did actually do something I wish they would come on the board and say it....otherwise we don't know if this guy just dropped this name and will wait another month to sell with another user name.
