What 1-of-1 PSA Cards Do You Own?

Me personally, I have the only PSA 9 1981 JOGO Warren Moon CFL rookie and it is SWEET! It's oversized and black and white, but I still think it is a great card given its rarity and significance.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

None. I have owned several though in the past. Heck, one of my 1975 Topps cards was 1 of 1 until a few weeks ago.
  • Several of the Trammell cards I submitted in the Jan/Feb set registry special were first-time submissions for the issue and hence 1/1 by default. The coolest of those to get back was the '94 Select, as I received a 10. I expect and hope their 1/1 status will change as other folks submit them, but I definitely enjoy having broken the ice and will enjoy the 1/1 status while it lasts.

A far more interesting 1/1 Trammell that I don't own is the '80 Topps in 10--his oldest solo 10 to date and a card which now has some great set registry history as it was once part of RobE's '80 Topps set and now resides in the #1 Trammell player set.

  • I own the only PSA 9 of 1961 Fleer FB #63 Bob St Clair. I'm sure there's more raw St Clairs out there in similar condition since there's only been 13 of these cards graded so far. I cherry picked 15 of my best cards from this set to send in for grading and received 2 PSA 9's, 12 PSA 8's and 1 PSA 7. It's frustrating because I thought I had several cards better than the St Clair.

AHHHHH! Shag, you outbid me on that Moon! I thought my bid was pretty aggressive, but it was only good enough for second. If you ever decide to sell it, talk to me first image.

Anyhoo, a bunch of my Marcus Allens are pop 1 none higher. A few of the tougher ones:

However, I actually own several 1 of 1 s...and I wish I knew how to post the scans so you could all be impressed..

Can anybody point me toward a thread dealing with posting scans?

Yeah, it's completely unreal. I read the criminal complaint against him and it sounds as though the "acquaintance" he wanted to have killed may have been a gay lover [let me add the obligatory "not that I care"] who was going to out him. It's so bizarre. Danton must just be a mess of an individual.

I swear, man, the Blues are just cursed. Fifty years from now, we'll be the new Red Sox.

  • I wasn't going to go as far as the gay thing, but I must say that it crossed my mind.....

My wife is none to happy. After Bobby Bassen left, she really hasn't liked anyone as much as she liked Danton....

Long live Bob Bassen! One of my favorite Blues moments was going to a game at Chicago Stadium with some friends and one of their older brothers when I was about 17 or 18. Bassen bloodied Steve Smith in a fight and the Blues went up 2-1 shortly thereafter. My friends and I were going nuts, only to see the Hawks score three goals in about 5 seconds after that. Whew. Hawks fans certainly let us have it after that. It's kind of shame the Hawks stink now because that was a great rivalry back in the day.

It really is too bad about the Danton thing. His presence doesn't make or break a team, but he's one of the few Blues players that seems to consistently play with some passion.

  • I'm not totally sure, but I think some of my PSA 5 T206s are 1/1s... rare backs (ie. American Beauty, Sovereign, etc)
  • I have a bunch of Chris Webber PSA 1/1's in various grades. I also have the only PSA 10 1991 Netpro John McEnroe. I just sold the only PSA 9 1986 Fleer Star Sticker of Rod Carew on Ebay. I think it was to CarewFan from here on the boards but I'm not sure.

I had a 1/1 PSA 9 1969 common for about two weeks. After mine had been graded, 2 more showed up right away. The exciting thing about it for me was that it came from my own submission.

    Wow, tough question.
It's hard to choose, but I guess it's this one because
of what class this guy had when he played the game.
I was also able to meet him and he was nothing
    but kind and classy.

It's also my favorite because this card compares
to the Honus Wagner card. There are only six
PSA 8's of any card in the whole set. There are no 9's or 10's.
The POP reports show that it is 50-75x more tougher to
get this version than the regular 1955-56 parkhurst version
in PSA 8 or higher. This card is a 1/1 for now and perhaps forever.

Sorry, you said PSA card, so I added this one too.

  • 1976 Basketball Corky Calhoun PSA 10 from one of my submissions. Owned it for all of 5 days until I sold it to D'orsey Bryant for his No 1 All-time Set. Just a common, but a Laker.

Also have a couple of Daunte Culpepper PSA 10's that are 1/1, but since I'm the only one on the planet who collects this guy, probably not that big of a deal.

Sorry, SDSportsFan, I didn't mean to taunt you. (Well, maybe just a little...) I'm not sure the Kemp was a good investment, since it looks as if he'll never be president. That's my best set, though, so I had to have the card. I'm sure you know how that goes!

A couple of 91 Score Nolan Ryans (#1 and 4) in PSA 10. Keith, you and I were actually bidding for the pack these came out of a couple of months ago before we made contact with each other. I'm not sure how rare these cards are, but the pack of 4 ended up somewhere around the 10-12 mark. The cards graded 10, 9, 8, 10. It's odd to me that the ones on the outside would have graded the highest.

    Also a 1990 Classic Ryan # T84 in 10, and a 1993 Finest Refractor Ryan in a 10.

One of the above is a lie. Try to figure out which one....

I guess I could add my 1951 Topps Connie Mack All-Stars Walter Johnson.
It's graded PSA 6, the only one and the highest graded (although I'm
sure it won't take long for murcerfan to post that SGC has graded one
higher!). I didn't buy it for the "1 of 1" status. I actually found
out about the pop after I won it on eBay.

<< <i>Hey Schmidty, what did you pay for that P.R. sticker (if you don't mind me asking)? >>

I would rather not say - just something along the lines of "much less than it is currently worth". Raw, Near Mint example seem to trade for about $500 - $700 or so these days - and there has not been a graded example above NM offered for public sale in over five years. The last PSA 7 publicly available was offered by Levi Bleam for approximately $800 or so. It exhibited some of the centering problems that are so indicative of the issue (and perhaps luckily largely absent from the 9 I have). Incidentally, I have just received back from GAI a 7.5 Near Mint + example that is slated to be available for sale - I believe it to be the highest-graded example offered for sale in over five years. I am looking for $1,750 for the card - but have much more flexibility as it would relate to a trade-type scenario for Schmidt, Phillies, or 1955 Bowman cards that I would like to own.

Any more interest - please contact me offline.

    Best-
    marc
