it's a question thats always bothered me- what is/are the earliest known card for each of the major sports? the best i can come up with is this list
Baseball
1869 Cincy Reds carte-de-visite (some fancy french term for "postcard")
Basketball
1933 Sport Kings, 3 or 4 bball players were included
also, a series of leather (i think) cards in the early 1900's featured team pennants with generic basketball action scenes
Football
1888 Goodwin Champs Henry Beecher
Hockey
1910 c56 set, also a Sweet Caporal postcard variation from the same year (same checklist/photos)
anything i'm missing?

<< <i>Jeff Mullen is the basketball guy's name, and I found this at his site. I guess it's up to you if you really consider this a basketball card or not.

Jeff Mullen has an awesome basketball site. i wish someone would step up and make a vintage hockey site like this (i would, but a complete lack of computer knowledge prevents me from attempting a website). kinda cool that the first ever basketball "card" is a girl
