Hello Everyone!
PSA has been very busy and it has been difficult for me to get on the boards lately but I just wanted to thank all of you for your continued support of PSA-you have made us stronger than ever!
The hobby continues to evolve as more and more people are realizing the benefits of grading and authentication. In fact, the specific growth of PSA/DNA has been awesome as our autograph team has become a truly dominant force in 3rd party autograph authentication. The Set Registry also continues to flourish. This is no fad. Set collecting has been around for ages and it has been very fun to watch you (the collectors who support us) really get behind it and make it a true community. If you are having a good time with Set Registry - then that's all the matters to us.
PSA will launch single signed ball grading this summer and tickets have been steadily coming in for grading. It's very exciting to be here right now.
Every year, we are going to be looking into new markets - markets that could use authentication and/or grading. Last year, it was tickets. This year, it will be the new autographed ball grading service. Next year, who knows? Your input matters to us. If you have a request for PSA - a new service for 2005 - let us know.
In conclusion, we appreciate your business and support- we couldn't have reached 7,000,000 cards without you.

Thanks for the update Joe. Here are two suggestions, the first an expansion of an existing service, and the second a bit of a hot potato:
1) A full-blown authentication service, with clear guidelines and standards, for use with everything from autographed cards (PSA/DNA authentic) to hand-cut cards (like '84 Nestle) to altered cards (like a a trimmed but authentic '52 Mantle). I really think there is a market out there for this service, where the notion of a "grade" is less relevant in comparison to simple authentication. Some cards already bear this designation, but there is a lot of confusion (even internally to PSA) about how it can be used - so I think a robust "official" program would be welcome among collectors.
2) A new truly tamperproof holder - I think the best idea I heard was one that would become discolored upon tampering (somewhat like the idea of ink-packs bursting and staining stolen bank cash). Without a doubt, this one enhancement would solidify PSA's position at the top. The topic has been beaten to death a bit, but it's still the most important shortcoming of the current suite of services PSA offers (in my opinion).

PSA is at the top of the game and it always will be in my mind. The only thing I ask is do not lose focus of the graded card community as more and more items come on line.

One (fairly minor) change I'd like to see. It's not necessarily a new service, but a Non-sports forum would be most welcome. I've e-mailed your webmaster about it, but received no response.
Great to hear from you again and thanks for the update.
A request I have (I've submitted it before) is for the Registry
to chronologically organize registrants' sets just like on the
Main Page. For several of the members that have numerous
sets listed, it is currently quite disorganized and cluttered
when you click on the "View Registrant's Other Sets" link.

How will this affect a singled signed baseball ( I assume - hope - football and basketball to? ) that has already been PSA/DNA authenticated but would need the grading service?
I also like the idea of putting more cards into holders that say "Authentic - Altered" or something like that. There is a ton of high dollar altered stuff out there due to some unethical PRO submitters and many of us honest people don't know what to do with a trimmed card when we get one. If at all possible, I would suggest using a holder for these that are so tough to get into that the card will likely get damaged upon case cracking. This would also lessen the likelyhood of a trimmed card making it's way into a graded PSA holder some day, which would limit PSA liability in the long run.
As for new grading services, I would like to see you grade vintage magazines in a full size holder.

I have a problem with ball grading: signatures in certain pens (e.g., Sharpie) are known to bleed over time. What will it say about grading of signatures on balls if I take a freshly signed ball in Sharpie, get a high grade on it, and then 10 years later the signature has bled badly into the ball?

As to other markets that could use grading, how about grading sports magazines and programs. Also, two other proven markets that CU could make an impact on are comic book grading and toy grading. Is there any chance of PSA getting into these markets anytime soon. I think with the registry, PSA could become the lead in both of these markets rather quickly.
1. can you please group all the Topps mainstream sets from 51 to present togather in a catagory? its just a pain in the neck to have to fish through 4 thousand sets to find 1977 or 1975? it should be easy and would make the registry page much easier and user friendly.
2. i think you should also have hof topps registry sets? i think its a waste of space to look through 700 common cards to see which hof ers john doe is collecting and or needs for that particular set(i know the that rose would be missing from the sets but if someone is doing a rose topps set you could add that to the registry). i would bet you have a lot more topps hof er collectors willing to put togather maybe an 83 topps set of maybe 50 cards vs getting 787 cards graded when they look just fine in plastic pages?
3.i am probably the only person that likes this idea but i think that if you made the tall boy holders to fit a horizontal card horizontally that would actually be neat?i know storage would stink!i really hate that little psa in the bottom right corner and it stinks on any cards from 52 to 56 were it actually distracts the corner.
