How do you keep a proof submittal to PCGS from getting damaged?

jdimmickjdimmick Posts: 9,667 ✭✭✭✭✭
I am getting ready to send off a submission. I normally dont submit proof, but some of you guys got me to start looking for some. I have a DCAM franklin still in the proof cello that looks super high end. I am afraid to break it out and put it in the acrylic safe flip for fear of slide marks during transit.

Any suggestions on what PCGS will accpet?

thanks

jim

Leave it in the cello and put that into the flip if it will fit that way.

I was thinking of leaving it in the cello, will PCGS accept it this way, or should I cut one end of the cello to allow access.

At least if they Fingerprint it, I will know it came from that end??

I agree with bajjerfan; I recently sent in a 1955 FP for grading. I carefully cut each individual coin, so as not to break the pliofilm seal, and placed them in individual flips. Wroked just fine.image

Fine to send it to PCGS in the cello tucked in a non-PVC flip ... I've done it that way. I presume the first grader snips it out ... Do not, repeat do not, stick your proofs in a poly bag and then place in the flip. They will haze ...
