Beckett has Joey Harrington and David Carr booking more than Tom Brady

If you can read that statement without rolling your eyes, smirking, or muttering "Oh God" then you deserve some kind of metal. Just checked up a Brady 03 Topps Refractor and saw the other two priced higher. What an atrocity.

I got a couple of rickie weeks auto's. donruss classics #d to 25. any reason why these wont bring 100$ or more? Is this kid not paning out. I see all his stuff on ebay has cooled off a lot.
I ask you bc you seem to know a lot about the minor league guys.
  • Just goes to show you sometimes expectations will bring higher prices than actual performance in the trading card business.
Collecting vintage material, currently working on 1962 topps football set.
  • well the reason harrington and carr would be priced higher is that these are second-year cards of harrington and carr so they bring a premium. beckett always prices the second-year cards of players at an additional premium (see amare stoudamire in basketball). when the 2004 stuff comes out, these guys will fall to their normal tiers, which is probably the unlisted stars and brady will be priced higher. i'm not saying i agree with this because brady is a ton better and second-year cards don't mean anything at a point in time when guys have 80 different rookie cards (second-year cards were cool when someone had one or two rookie cards), but that's the reason.

I am going to grab this one. Rickie Weeks is currently at AA for the Brewers. Here is his current up to date stats:

    6 games
    24 at bats
    6 hits
    1 2B
    3 RBI's
    5 Strikeouts
    1 stolen base
    .250 average

He did start out batting like .450 over the first 3 games, but now it seems he has slowed a bit. I definitley would not accept less than $100 for any of his rookies that are numbered and auto'd out of just 25 copies. That's a low amount produced.

I personally don't think the guy will be everything that he is worked up to be, but he should be a good average hitter.

Jamie D'Antona is having a great season thus far ( Arizona Single A ball ) - one of Jason's picks!
Jorge Padilla is also having a good year thus far. Good average and plate discipline! 8 walks already! ( Phillies AAA )

Rios and Quiroz are still struggling a bit for the Toronto AAA affiliate. It is still early.

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?
