Goofy Set almost done. Help!

Howdy gang!

Most of you have probably been following my Goofy Set threads over the last few months. As a recap, I'm putting together a PSA fantasy Registry set of the weirdest and goofiest card from each of Topps years circa 1952 through 1980. My goal is to first collect all the cards in raw form and then upgrade to PSA 8s over time.

Anyway, I finished the set list but a few of the years are really weak when it comes to weird cards. I don't have access to some of the sets so I need your opinion on what the goofiest card is from the following years:

1957 - This year is tough. Some have mentioned the reverse negative card of Hank Aaron but that is more of an error card, in my opinion. The other contender is Elmer Valo. Kind of a lame pick but the best I could do (check out the TV camera pictured by Elmer as he chooses his bat). Anything funnier from that year? I've looked at every card in this set and can't find anything better.

1960 - I've looked at every card in this set and the only two that come close are Wally Moon (unibrow) and Don Mossi. I think these guys are goofy in every issue so I'm looking for something more unique. Someone mentioned the Ryan Duren card from this issue. That card is OK but not that funny.

1963 - There are two cards I'm considering for this issue. Ryan Duren (shades) and Harry Craft (mgr of Colt .45s - no logo). Anything funnier in this year? The Duren card isn't THAT funny and the Craft card is only interesting to collectors. Not really funny, just weird.

1974 - I haven't looked at every card in this set for decades. The best card I could come up with is Glenn Beckert Washington Nat'l League card. He was traded to the Padres that year but he is still in his Cubs uniform. I think it is funny seeing him in a Cubs uniform on a Washington error card. Double whammy. Anything funnier than that in this year?

Anyway, I'm 7 cards away from finishing the raw set. Once it is done I'm going to post the cards on a web site and announce it on this board. Thanks to all the help from everyone on this fantasy set thus far. If you want to see the old threads, do a search on "Goofy" and they will come up.

Cheers,
minibeers

my brother and I always thought the Granny Hamner card in the '59 set was pretty funny; I think its number is somewhere in the 300s

  • 1963...I would think you have to go with Boog Powell and the phallic symbol on the bat end.

Okay, how bout these for 1957 Topps?

#99 Bob Keegan "You mean I'm supposed to let it go?"
#169 Herb Plews "Would you take the damned picture already?"

    Edited to add:
Went through my '63 set (man, that's such a neat set I had to keep reminding myself what I was looking for!):

#27 Choo Choo Coleman "You want me to do what?"
#34 Dick Schofield "Comon ya wanna piece a me?"

or #138 Pride of NL - "Get your g** damned hand off my bat!"

Hey Scott, I'm not sure if you meant literally on those '63s but if you don't have them they're on eBay. Here are some links (my new found talent thanks to Magellan):

  • Stan the Man looks like Stan the Great Grandpa in that pic
  • My 2 cents for now:

1957 - #29. Whitey Herzog is wearin some funky lookin shades
1960 - #22 Rocky Bridges.. looks like he has a big chew in his cheek.. though I gotta say, Mossi takes the cake (again)
  • The '57 Herzog is good. Here is a link 57 Herzog
