Gratuitous Conversions

Has this ever happened to anyone here? I bid on an art medal, listed in dollars. When the seller sent me the invoice, he had used the identical numbers after the dollar sign, but switched the denomination to Euros. In other words, an $11 winning bid became an invoice for 11 Euros. I requested a rewrite of the invoice to reflect the actual winning price, but I am still waiting.

  • Wow, that doesn't sound good, especially given the current exchage rate. I had to go to the bank today to buy Euros to send to a seller in Germany and got a bad reminder of how weak the dollar is right now.
I hope you get that worked out.
