I was just taking a look at the 1958 Topps Koufax GAI 9.5 Gem MT up for auction in Mastro. I don't mean to bash GAI but (I own some cards in there holders) in no way is that KOUFAX a GAI 9.5 Gem. It has print defects (spots) in multiple areas, especially a large one along the left side that distract the viewer immensely. In fact I think they are distracting enough to lower the grade at best to an 8.5.
Sorry to whine, just sick of the obsession with razor- mint corners and lack of attention to true eye appeal.

The 1958 PSA 9 Aaron, on the otherhand, looks perfect!!! and is in a league of its own compared to the other 9s+ up for auction.

Seems like Sandy is looking up at the grade in disbelief

Collecting Nolan Ryan cards (68-94)
Any other graded Mastro cards undeserving of their out of the stratosphere grades? I feel it is our birthright (since most of us can't afford the stuff) to at least critique it! We all have suffered the wrath of Darth Grader and lost out financially (along with losing our ego)- Now its our turn to return the favor!
Please post!
I would also say that some cards are very deserving of their grade (to be fair!) such as the 1958 Aaron PSA 9.
