is there ANYWHERE I can send $xxxx.xx and they will get me caught up on ALL the euro coins?

Or do I have to cruise the sites piecing it all together?

  • Are you looking for just 1 of each denomination from each country, or do you want all the dates??

If your answer is the first choice (a type set) then you can easily find the notebook albums of all 12 sets.

If you want all the dates, then that will take you some work, as I don't know of any place to find it all as one package.

Bear in mind also, that the 3 city-states that issue Euro coins will all have to bought seperately, and the cost of those gets very high, especially for the Vatican issues.

  • How about all denominations from Austria? I bought this when they first came out. I bet not too many are still in a starter pack! image

These starterpacks aren't rare at all. Most people hoarded them, including non collectors.
In Austria's case, it doesn't offer any significant advantage,
while Greece's starterpack was the only way to get some mintmarked 2002 denominations (minted in Spain,France etc).

Euros have come a long way since they were first launched. They're so popular to novice and older collectors,
that a wide variety of packages is offered, from humble folders to luxurious wooden boxes with velvet trays.
The possibilities are endless, some people collect all denominations from every date and country, others prefer to keep it simple.

Another thing to be considered, like kuhli said is the dates. Some specific coins have only been minted for collectors,
and I'm not referring to the 10 (or 100) euro commemoratives. For instance, the 2003 Greek euros (and eurocents)
can only be found in the official blister in their entirety, since only the one cent, one and two euros have been given to circulation.

Another interesting aspect is the commemoratives. We often use the term NCLT for those (non circulating legal tender),
but Austria and Germany have 10 euro silver coins that are legal tender and can be used in everyday transactions.
    Not outside these countries though.

Commemorative issues of the existing denominations have just made their first appearance.
This coin has just been released and it's the Olympic 2 euro, first ever 2 euro legal tender coin with a different design.

  • Looks like this Euro shop only has 3 of these Starter Kits, none are Austria! Two Greece and one Italy.

Are there different mintmarks within issuing countries of the Euro also?

Germany still uses mint marks on their Euro coins.

Greece needed some assistance from the mints of other Euro countries to mint the necessary number of coins required for Euro introduction. The coins minted by other countries have a mint mark to indicate the minting country.

  • There are varieties, too. At least on Spanish, Austrian, Italian euro coins.
