IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR THE COIN COLLECTING RACE?

LucyBopLucyBop Posts: 14,001 ✭✭✭
Yep, there is always hope for finding that high grade GEM, or the latest Mule mint error rarity in change.....

Or a gold coin found with your metal detector.....

What a great hobby....

Good people... Good Times.........

Tons of Fun!

You are always the ultimate optimist. In this instence I concur whole heartily.Even though we dissagree here sometimes,we do try to help each other and steer newer collectors down the right path.

There are those who enter numismatics with no other thought than to fleece new and unknowledgable collectors. But there are those of us who will expose them for what they are, nothing but common con men. Stay tuned.

Hopefully this will turn out well for the people sooner rather than later.

Yep, and there are some who just look to fleece those who have been ripping collectors off for years and years and years, and still think they are the bees' knees. image

And those who think that they can relocate to a business friendly state, file incorportation papers, and claim they run an "honest legitimate business", and then use those state's courts to attempt to quash criticism of their sleazy practices. As if the act of filing corporation papers gives them a license to rip off thousands of collectors.

I don't like the "race" aspect. It's like the old joke about the young bull and the old bull standing on the hill looking down on a field filled with cows. I like to walk down the hill and look at all the coins and have fun by trying all kinds of different collections and reading a whole lot about numismatics and buying what strikes my fancy.

Oh, to the contrary. While reaffirming my belief that some people love to see others suffer, I am also reminded how much good there is in some people...a lot of people. And I surely hold nothing against my coins!

Can't say much due to the lack of experience but, I went to my first coin show couple weeks back and I felt like a kid in a candy store. It's was really really cool just to walk around and look at all the goodies then buying the one that fits your taste best.

    PURPLE!
