Gold coins are among the most exciting coins to collect, in my opinion. I like pristine examples of our circulated silver and copper coinage, but nothing fires the imagination like solid gold coinage.

If you can, get yourself a gold pocketpiece from a trusted seller -- a banged-up 1/10 oz. GAE or krugerrand will do just fine. Cool to have -- many people have never handled a gold coin, and I'll bet a significant minority of U.S. citizens don't even know they're minted to this day.

I am glad that you are happy with it. Thanks also to Stuart, who correctly guess the coin in my mystery coin thread.

A "little gold" is certainly better than no gold at all. Perhaps it will be the first of many gold purchases.

I hope to do another gold giveaway soon.
