I was wondering if anyone could help me grade this Ike. It is a 1972-S Blue Ike. It has beautiful luster although the photo does not show it. I am not familiar with grading BU Ikes.
Yes, nice looking Blue Ike. However, they are not uncommon this nice. It will probably go MS67 but is probably only worth the grading fee in this grade.
They have been going for around $75 in MS68 (sometimes less).
Yeah I've seen the 72-S's go pretty cheap. Awhile back someone had a MS68 for sale on here for around $55 I think. I bought 24 Blue sets awhile back and this is one of about 5 or 6 that are this nice. The rest vary. But I would say that most of other 18-19 are around MS65-MS66. This was a a real clean bunch that I bought. I got them from Hallenbeck. I was hesitant at first because they were $5 each in the Blue set and I have bought a couple off of E-bay (other dates) and they were real dogs. It is sometimes hard to tell how nice they are when they are in the cello.
Well thanks everyone for the responses. I don't have a lot of experience in grading Ikes and am still learning. I am still learning to operate my digital camera as well.
