Request for Merc grading assistance

I know it's hard to grade from photos, but I have here 1916 and 1916-S Mercs. I'm told that the 1916-S would grade much higher, but I really don't see it. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

The pictures aren't very good, but the 1916 S appears to be a circulated coin that has been cleaned. It would be a bodybag at PCGS. As for the 1916 P, I can't tell. It appears to be BU.

  • Hmmm. Neither has been circulated or cleaned. I definitely need to take better photos. Thanks!

  • From the pictures I can tell you for fact that they are shiny and indeed mercury dimes.
