They made 484,000 1909-S-VDB Lincolns
They made 852,5001877 Indian Cents
They made 264,000 1916-D Winged Liberty Dimes
They made 72,664 1901-S Quarters
Those are considered key coins and some consider them rare. This 1861 three dollar gold piece I just picked up on eBay had a business strike production of just 5,959 coins. Significantly fewer then any of those "rare" ones, yet is considered a common date. Who else has pictures of coins that they own with a lower mintage in a business strike coin?

<< <i>Nice pick-up. I really like $3's. This is one that I own. In 1883, there were just 900 business strikes.

Just curious...if that coin came up for sale, what do you think a rough asking price from a dealer would be?
(I'm tryin' to see if one would be in my price range...I am seriously betting NO!
This one (1882 NGC-61, 1500) is for sale at Pinnacle for $3950:
My 1883 is same holder/grade and ex-Norweb, so cost a bit more.
