Walter Breen monographs (light on pictures)
Doug Winter books on branch mints (CC, C, D, and O), Type I through III Liberty Double Eagles

I heard that David Bowers will be publishing a book on Double Eagles soon.

I really can't wait till Bowers new book comes out. I've received a few days
ago his new morgan book, and it is really fantastic

Also, I should add Bowers' US Gold Coins: An Illustrated History, which covers the entire run of US mint gold coinage from 1795 to 1933. Lots of great color pictures in that one.
