Newbie says hi...and has a ??? about Franklins

First let me say thank you to all the board members for sharing there knowledge, I've been watching and learning for a couple of months now. This is great!! I collected pennies and anything old from circulation when I was young, got away from it now I'm back collecting modern proofs and I have a few pcgs pr69 lincolns. I just recieved a 1957 unopened (yea I know!!) set, and the Franklin has what to me appears to be doubling on the rev. its very clear on all lettering and the eagle to the right of the bell, its not noticable to the naked eye but at 10x mag. Is there such a coin or is this something common? Sorry no camera yet. Oh yea its also a cameo, Thanks agian

I know that one of the franklin proofs of the 50s has a doubled reverse and that one may be the one. I don't remember. There is always the chance of strike doubling, though. In any case, sure sounds like a great coin. Welcome, too!

I remember hearing about a tripled-die reverse 1957 Franklin proof at a local coin show.They said it was rare and there were only a few examples of it.
