U.S. Mint raising prices

Looks like we will have to pay more for our products from the good ole Mint..

For the first time since 1998, the U.S. Mint is raising prices on its annual products.

New product prices and their increases over the 1998-2003 prices are as follows:

- proof silver American Eagle: $27.95, increase of $3.95;

- 11-coin proof set: $22.95, increase of $3;

- five-quarter proof set: $15.95, increase of $2;

- silver proof set: $37.95, increase of $6;

- uncirculated set: $16.95, increase of $2.

  • Gas prices are going up.
    Cable TV prices are going up.
    Health and car insurance prices are going up.
    Gold and silver prices are going up.

    I guess it's a logical conclusion that the Mint would
    raise it's prices too.

    I don't like it either but, what can you do ?

    GREEEEEEEEEDY businesses!!!!!!!!

    I raised my prices last month also across the board EVERYTHING went up a dime minimum. All Subway and all DQ items. Gas is going up and the shippers are going to add $50 to each truck again this summer I get EACH DELIVERY (gas goes up and a magical "fuel surcharge" begins appearing on all my invoices, they're not paying the increase and either am I so HERE YA GO MR. CONSUMER) so that's $250 a week on top of everything else and...

    you know the golden rule #42...

    Consumers pay all taxes and all COGS (cost of goods sold) increases, they just don't usually know it.

    Unfortunately, the Fed will see all these consumer price increases as inflation and raise interest rates, which will raise CD rates and bonds, taking money out of the equity markets, leading to even less corporate spending and more lay-offs... hopefully Greenspan won't do this, but history has shown when he can get his finger in the pie...

    Yep they raise prices while customer satifaction, quality and relief goes down. And shipping prices and times go up also.

    There is one more coin in the sets, and the price of silver is way up.... silver alone likely covers the delta in the silver proof sets and the ASE.
