    Nope. This was a metal detected find. The obverse(?) is completely smooth. Guy found it on his own property in upstate NY. Kind of cool. Best I ever found on my own property was a barber quarter image

    Might have been lost by a Redcoat during the Revolution. A lot of them were German (Hessian) mercenaries.

    Very cool as a relic, even if it ain't very collectible as a coin. The story of the find makes it worthwhile.
