I found a group of these that I'd put away and forgotten about. I'll offer them to forum members on a first come, first served basis. I'm asking $400 each.

seems like a pretty expensive lotto ticket to me with bad odds, ms65 money for what is 90 percent sure to be a ms62 common date gsa
I agree and I tell anyone that ever buys one of these from me that the odds are they're a common-date coin in butt-ugly condition because that's what most of the GSA CC's are.
To me, the real value in these pieces is to keep them unopened. While I don't find that many in any given year, they've climbed constantly in value over the years. It was not too long ago that I sold a number of these to forum members for $275 and have been raising the prices since due to demand. I've seen a few go on ebay for $525.....but feel that those prices were a quirk.
How many of them still exist today? Every time they change hands there's the likelihood that the new owner will open the package to check his luck.
Anyway, if you wish to gamble....head to Vegas or the local Indian Reservation.

Quick question for you, perhaps you know.
How do you certify these suckers with PCGS?
I would like the GSA designation on the slab.

While I don't care for the idea of cracking these coins out of their original holders, I realize that many do so and still wish to keep some of the GSA pedigree in place.
From what I understand, and others can correct me if I'm wrong, but for PCGS to certify the piece and include the GSA designation on their holder, you'll need to send the coin still housed in its original GSA holder to PCGS.
Alternately, in case you were not aware, NGC will certify the piece still in the original GSA holder.
Hope this helps.
