Vendio or something like it?

I am mainly a buyer but every once and a while I gather enough items to warrant listing them on eBay. The 6 picture limit can be restraining. I have seen some nice listings from sellers who use Vendio. Can anybody recommend them (or a service like them) for someone like me who only sells a few times a year?

Thanks for your advice.

I really like vendio. It costs me anywhere from $3 to maybe $15 or 20 a month, depending on how much I sell and what I'm selling. I think their plan for small-timers like me is $0.10 per listing plus 1 percent of the final value. I was looking back at some past invoices just now and one of the biggest fees I've had over the last several months was $4.12 plus the 10 cents on a Patrick Roy RC that went for $412.xx.

I think it's reasonable because their listing formats are a lot more appealing than the average eBay one and I think their image hosting is better than eBay's. Depending on how you scan a card, of course, vendio's enlarged display can be way more detailed than eBay's "supersize" function. Plus the images you upload to your vendio account can be linked to other websites, like this one, at no cost. Plus I like the fact that I can prepare my auctions ahead of time and save them until I'm ready to launch them all. I'm sure other auction services offer that, but I don't know that eBay does.

Do you have your own "webspace"? Sometimes you can find free image hosting and just provide a "hotlink" to said image. That how I do mine:

    LINK

If you right click Jeff Garcia you can see he is on a subaddress of www.facciolli.com. That way I can use any size, amount or quality of picture I want.

My "hosting" company is less then 50$ a month and I do not come near any of their limits. Again there are also some "free" ones out there.

  • Aknot,

I do not have my own web space and if I did, I wouldn't know what to do with it. Your Jeff Garcia pic is very clear but I need a service like Vendio that can hold my hand as I list things.

Off topic, I've been curious, is Aknot simply "Tonka" backwards or something else?

    Thanks for the advice,

    I use Spare Dollar. Link

It costs $4.95 a month and includes 50 MB of storage space. (The first month is free) They also have auction templates which include multiple pics, auction scheduling, help with end of auction notices, and even automatic feedback if you want to use it. I used to use ebay's Turbo Lister but will never go back. You can also pay the monthly fee via Paypal.

  • That probably would not have been my second guess.

When I was selling I used Auction Helper, at the time(2002) the fees were similar to what yawie is paying now. Their images flexibility was pretty good plus they give you templates for your auctions, invoicing and labels service, and the Auction Lynx which can show all the auctions you're running with a link on each individual auction. I don't know if they're set up the same way now but some large (BBC Kid) dealers use them. Having said all that, the Vendio images & templates look pretty good too.
