toughest johnny bench card, its not an 81 topps #600

man, i`m telling you right now, the toughest johnny bench card to obtain right now ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, is the 1968 kahns weiners rookie card.
i`ve had my feelers out there for some time on this card, and zilch, nadda, nothing. in my opinion, the two venezuelan cards of bench
(68 + 77) were the toughest, not the most expensive mind you, but the toughest to obtain. to this day only 6 examples (both included)
have been graded. if i may for 1 second (I owned and submitted all 6 of these to psa) thank you for letting me get that out !!
the 1971 topps greatest moments card is right there also, along with the 1974 topps deckle edge. the 81 is tough, but just not in the same league.
what do you think ??
your friend, always, speeder

There's a pretty nice 1968 Bench Kahn's card in the current Mastro auction. It's part of a large lot - but it's there and it's nice
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

try marty pritchard, peter lalos, bob erhart and scp.

they've all been knocking late model kahn's around, can't say i've seen a bench per say.

Nothing? Perhaps "next to nothing". But "nothing" seems a bit harsh.

Robert Earhart sells on eBay as earhart47. I believe he's also on these boards as psa10fan.

  • Does Bench have a 1970 (not 1973) Topps Candy Lid or 1973 Topps Comic, those would be up there too?

hey 67standup, you are sooo right. those items are so tough i`ve kinda forgot about them !! had a 73-pin-up of bench, when psa told me they no longer graded that item, i sold it to a collector in washington. i can say the only item i have not yet laid eyes on is the 73 topps comic !
hey mikeschmidt, thank you for that link to the mastro auction, man what a kahns collection !!!!!!!!!!!! unbelievable <<<

  • Yup, I've been reviewing the Edward's website, I might actually compete in this one. The trimmed T206 Plank is very interesting.

  • All impressive rare stuff. But do you have the 1965 hair brush he used after playing catch with his friends on a hot summer day? There's never a pinnacle to rarity.
