I'd say the most important thing is the gold seal. A single set may be a little chancy for mint cards if it has been moved around a bunch of times.
  • the other sets i've seen haven't been shrink wrapped...and it's hard to tell if they've been unsealed sometimes. i'm an avid maddux fan and want to acquire another tiffany rc...and that's the only way to do it reasonably (i.e., tiffany maddux psa 10s/bgs 9.5s rarely come up on ebay and when they do they're very costly).
  • I've never heard of or seen a shrink wrapped set of the 15 or so I've seen. The box does look very clean and the seal seems alright. If the seller's feedback checks out then you should be okay.

    Rainman,

I have the tin set version of this. The tin set is factory shrink wrapped. The box version might not be, but that does not mean this is altered in any way. Some dealers have found that shrink wrapping old sets helps preserve the box without damaging it. The wrap can always be safely removed and it sure prevents alot of the shelf wear on these boxes.
What I do with my 1987 Fleer Update Tiffany Tin sets is gently wrap it in some clear plastic wrap one can buy from the market. I do it to preserve the original condition of the factory wrap. Preventing wear is always good.
I have the 1988 Fleer Update set and it is in a factory shrink wrap too. Contact the seller and just ask about it.
