To open or not to open

What should I do. I have a few boxes of 1989 Hoops basketball both series. Should I open these or just keep them as is or try to sell?

I just did a search of completed items and saw that only 2 series one boxes sold for $27.00 and $30.00 in the recent past. It looks like series 2 does not sell too well. The boxes I have had since 1989 and paid about $9.00 per box.

Open? Keep as is? Sell?

I'm not good at giving advice but I would like to share this ebay sale on a PSA 9 Robinson RC - I remember they said this card was a short print.

I've got some of this stuff too. Last month, I posted an auction for a Robinson PSA 10 RC that went for much more than $4.00 (over $100 I think), but that seemed to be the exception to the rule. Doesn't seem people are dying to get 1989 Hoops cards (yet!).

  • Depending on if you itemize deductions on your taxes or not, have you thought about donating them? If you get a receipt showing what you donated, you could surely take a deduction of your $9 per box cost basis. It's a great way to get rid of the over produced crappola.
