#659 is all that you need to worry about.

(oh yeah, and the fact that he won the game for them!)

ah actually he didnt win the game for them, the winning run was scored in the 9th, Bonds hit
the dinger in the 8th...but whose counting?

  • Ahhh, the smell of people who were/are so wrong about Bonds is stinking up the air. I have always defended him, and I always will. Innocent until proven guilty.

Until then, watch in amazement and continue to compare others who enter the league to him. He is the best ever!

Jerkoff - maybe. Greatest guy ( especially 5 tool statistically ) to EVER PLAY THE GAME - YEAH!!

Stolen Bases/Homers - Nobody is close.

Hate him for him, but you can't deny the ability. C'mon man.

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?

Ill admit i cant stand bonds. but steroids or not, Were watching a Legend as big as ruth aaron maris mantle etc..

You nailed that one Jason! I like Kevin, but he's wrong about Bonds.

His comparison of Soriano to Bonds will never be forgotten. Although, it is pretty fair now that we found out earlier this year that Soriano is actually Barry's age anyway! LOL.

I have an bet for anyone that will accept. Bonds wins another MVP this year. Any takers? It would be like taking candy from a baby!

Bonds has not showed any ounce of slowing down. His homers were down beause he gets like 4 REAL strikes thrown to him a game. If that.

Ill take that bet. I will say pujols will get it this year.
  • How did I know that people will say Pujols. If he didn't win it last year with those numbers, he certainly ain't going to win it this year without the numbers. Bonds is consistent, and Pujols will slip a bit this year from last year's stats.

funny, before the season and during all the Roids talk there were NO Bonds supporters around, now
that he is hitting they are coming out of the woodwork and now he is again the greatest to ever
    play....blah blah blah

The real question is......Will Bonds have fans even when he is not hitting, or when he is hurt, or when
he finally admits that they only reason he is breaking records is because he is cheating? There seem
to be a few die hard Bonds fans, who may or may not defend the guy when times get tough, and then
there are fans of the game who like seeing this freak hit the ball long, who are around to claim him
king when he is hitting, but are gone when he is on the stand talking about roids or booting balls
    in the game 6's.

Pujols will get it this year. media wants to see doom for bonds!! so they will try there best to knock him down. pujols will become the fans favorite. Bonds collectors cant even collect his cards anymore, he wont allow any new cards to be printed. Im sure him and his agent are up to something with cards but we will see.
what is your wager bonds vs. pujols?? we can make it cards..
  • Anybody willing to act as an escrow service for the season i got $100 to send to someone in paypal that says he doesnt win the MVP. You can pick someone you think is honest. The bet is he wins the MVP you win the $100 less fees. He doesnt win the MVP for whatever reason injury etc. i win the $100 less fees.
  • The Non-Balco version of Bonds is still pretty big. I wonder how long it takes for the steroids to wear off so he can look like the '87 version again. I think he's going to wear all that gear on his arms and stuff and a big jersey so it's hard to tell if he's shrunk.
  • I have loved Barry since 1992 and finally got him on my fantasy league team in 1993. He is the best, a PIL (Player I Like). Of course, he has some PR issues, but his greatness should not be in doubt. He was an incredible, and for my money, the best player in the game before he bulked up.

  • I always thought that Barry was one of the most natural, smoothest players around in the late 80's- mid 90's kind of like Griffey. Then something along the way happened when he went to SF where he became a raging egomaniac and basically a flat out jerk. Griffey on the other hand just started to suck. Oh well, I can't deny that Bonds is one hell of a player though. Not to take anything away from him in that department.
  • The moment that I realized Barry had an emotional issue was when he argued with Jim Leyland during spring training when he was with the Pirates. How can you argue with one of the best Managers ever? I guess if you are Barry.

A guy does not lose his neck lifting weights and eating right.

You clowns are being used by baseball and your bending over and asking for seconds.

The Players Union is protecting CHEATERS and most of you can't get the words "my hero" out your mouths fast enough.

Until baseball cleans ups its act, its dead. Take some time and read about the testing that was aborted
because they were up to %8 (<-- read that again) positives. The Union called the testing to a halt.

    Broke and busted.

They absolutly count on that fact that most fans dont have any skills and are too stupid to hold their "heroes"
    accountable. Sad.

    Loves me some shiny!

I heard that with all the hype surrounding the steroid use from this year, experts in this area are already using DNA from old timers to test them for steroid use as well. Guess what - Rod Carew was using them.

Cute kid, but is that a Giambi jersey he is wearing? What a hero!

    LOL LOL LOL

I have said it plenty of times before, if he is tested and is proved to have taken ILLEGAL steroids, I will admit that his records should have asterisks. Until then - Play on Barry!

JoeS, I'm always around. Many times I don't respond to your somewhat silly and inept commentary for obvious reasons. We go thru this each year with you making comparisons to Soriano and bla-bla-bla. It gets stale and crusty because your thought process always seems to be 14 degrees outside the left field foul pole.

Whenever you want to talk rational baseball, let me know. Your 'Roid Rage' gets tiring.

Bonds' sterling record speaks for itself. The rest is pure conjecture.

That is BullSh#t Joe and you know it!

I have never backed down from my stand on Bonds.
You and I have had many many many converstations
about this, both on and off the forum.
I never backed off him even with all the stupid trash
that so many threw about steriods...

It's going to stink really bad in baseball when Barry hits that one more home run. Worse yet, more clowns are going to compare him to the Babe and Hank Aaron as he hits more.

The game should never be compared to what it was, and what it is now.

BKAH-Proud Walmart shopping patriot, how's the koolaid?

  • Carew,
I think we get your point. Bonds is what happens when a guy with a lot of talent in the first place takes steroids. The Bagwell's and Giambi's are what happens when an above average player takes them. If you're going to come down hard on Bonds at least realize that there are many other guys out there using. Thats why I find it sort of difficult to just smash Bonds for his use (assumption) of steroids. I find it much easier to dislike him for his attitude.

ok, I am not even sure what that means?

(I really more often shop at Target
by the way... not sure what that does
to this statement, but thought you might
    need to know that.)
