OK Guys, You can only pick one

You can pick just one item out of the new Mastro's catalog what would it be? Don't pick the most expensive thing and say you would sell it to buy 3 or 4 other items you really wanted. This one item would be something that would remain in your collections forever.

The Joe Dimaggio 56th game hit streak bat would have to be my pick. The last bat the Yankee Clipper ever used during the historic and probably never to be broken streak.

I would lend it to the Hall of Fame or to the Hillerich & Bradsby museum in my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky for display for a portion of time. Something that nice has to be displayed for the public to see.

  • Well if we're not having any issue with the price, then I would buy the unopened 1952's and meet everyone at Nationals and as we sat and drank beer we'd all open a pack!!! (if we're dreaming why not?)

  • Hell, I forgot all about the 1952 box or even the 1953 unopened lot. I just saw so many things that I wanted in the pages leading after that I got sidetracked.

It makes it tough because I would the 1952 box after a little thought. Oh, What the hell, I want to pick 2 items or possibly 3.
  • Now the hard part. All I have to do is hit one of the seven powerball drawings that there will be between now and the auction closing.
  • the 52 unopened box...no doubt...
  • Yeah, I have to agree....I have the same chance of attaining the 52 unopened box as walking on the moon someday. Plus, looking at the pics, it looks like they are all 5th/6th series (high numbers). You know there's gotta be a PSA 8 or better Mantle hanging out in there somewhere!
You spilled WHAT on my 1952 Topps Mantle?!?!?! Doh!!

    Good for you.
  • The thing I hate about Mastronet is when I look at their stuff, I feel soooo poooor. If I had the money and bought everything I wanted there, I would end up spending $300,000.00.

Being somewhat reasonable as to what I could afford, but really can't, I would choose the 52 Mantle PSA 5.

Only one?? I guess I'd have to go with the autographed 1933 Goudey
#53 Babe Ruth. I get goosebumps.

I gave strong consideration to the PSA 10 Sport Kings Cobb. Amazing.
    Another classic Mastronet description, too!

The Ruth, Gehrig, Wagner autographed ball is very nice.
    incredible ball

This lot is also unbelievable: instant collection!

    Ok, I'll stop now.
  • Asking a true collector which one you would pick is like asking some normal person which finger would they like to lose. If you are a true collector, you would want everything there. If you are a true normal person, you want all your fingers.
