The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin
Actually, I believe the picture on the left is the coin raw still in the proof set. My understanding is there is no rhyme or reason to the serial numbers.
<< <i>from the number on the holder I think? this coin was not sent in raw
it was sent into pcgs already in a pcgs holder and upgraded and/or up designated
>>
Untrue.
Some of the numbers on my holders of recently graded Franklins are very similiar to this one.... Every single Franklin I have ever sent has been a raw coin.

Those are before and after pictures of the same coin. I sent it in to PCGS raw and still inside the US Mint packaging. What a difference in appearance from when it was in the flat-pack. The PCGS holders really make these DCAM's sparkle.

Many great proofs look crappy because of the flat-pack holders and I'll bet get overlooked because of it. Sometimes you have to take it out to see what you really have.

<< <i>Where did that one grade Russ? My guess based on the pic would be 68DCAM, but pics sometimes lie. >>
It's in at PCGS right now. My grade is also PR68DCAM. It has a couple faint obverse hairlines that I think will keep it out of a 69 holder.
