That is very cool - what metal is it - copper nickel? Love that reverse.

  • Yep, those Coins of All Nations packs usually do have very nice BU coins in them.

  • Cool coin! the woman looks ethnic. I don't see many coins with women of color on them.

This is probably a very scarce and underrated coin. I've seen only one or two in poundage
and they were in poor condition. Uncs are occasionally seen on lists but never in dealer stock.
These sets are probably one of the very few sources for this coin.

There is always a chance that hordes exist, but generally there were very few people with any
interest in this sort of coin and the denomination is high enough to preclude the likelyhood of
    any significant horde.

A lot of African coins were made in small numbers, especially right after they gained independence from their colonial masters. These remained thinly traded and unpopular, but in recent years savvy collectors have been snatching them up.

Mintages mean very little with post-1950 coins. Some with mintages of 4,000 are common
and some with mintages of 400 million are scarce. It's difficult to tell the good ones from the
bad ones without getting out and looking. Krause and price lists aren't much help.
