Found golden toned silver kenndy in a roll

I went to the bank today and purchased one roll ($10) of kenndy halves. Out of the 20 halves, I found 1 40% silver 1965 kenndy. The eagle part of the coin had been toned golden/yellow. (It had a yellowish tint, I'm guessing it was toning from the sulfur in the paper roll).

I'm surprised in just 6 or so years how more difficult it has been to find silver kenndys.

In my universe it's 40 years since they quit minting 90% silver Kennedies for circulation, 28 years since the last clad silver non-proofs, and maybe a few hours since the last proof silver came down the chute. "Deedle deedle, deedle deedle", as they say.

HEY!! Take that kind of talk over to the LITESIDE!!!! image

Seriously, though, I used to get rolls from my local credit union, and found very few if any pre-70's. I think either the coin suppliers (Wells Fargo, etc) supplying the banks, or the nearby casinos have someone looking for anything valuable first!image

    Congrats!

OT...take it to the U.S. Coin forum. Hint: That's why they have separate forums.
