Loose card in the slab

I just received a PSA 9 card in the mail from an aution off ebay. This card is so loose in the slab that it can physically move left and right. Has anyone else had this happen? Should I have it reholdered?
Thanks,
Jim

    Hi WinPitcher,
I'm thinking it was sealed correctly. Could that be the case?

  • jimtb,
Compare it to another PSA you've got an see if the holder is out of tolerance. I had this problem with one a while back and it appeared that the holder was indeed a little out of spec on mine. Mine was out of tolerance top to bottom. If it does appear out of tolerance compared to another slab, I would contact PSA and see if you can get it reholdered free (maybe send it in with a submission)

correctly? or incorrectly? if it is swimming in the holder the 2 raised sides could be off a lil (i mean they make millions of them) or the card is slighty cut from the factory a tad smaller and that has caused it or not to freak u out the card has been trimmed and got passed psa.......does the card "swim" alot? or just a lil? mine moves a lil where all the others do not. I took a 55 that I know not to be trimmed and put it up against it and mine looks fine but who knows u no?
    Good for you.

    Wow mercerfan,
That looks really tacky, not to mention unsafe for the card. Mine is a regular size card. I think the slab must be made wrong. Think I'll shoot em' an email and see what they can do.

    ahhh,
It's only a $600 card, WTF easy come, easy go.

just a lil' ole oversight image

at least it didn't get folded in half and stuffed into a 3 holder.
  • mercer,

man, did you even think of resubmitting to get properly slabbed?

I'm tired of paying postage and/or hauling expensive cards to shows for 'fixing',
I can't remember the last show I went to without a box of "mulligans".

    Mercerfan,
I guess this leads us back into a quality control/customer service issue again, eh?

For what it is worth the Feller is worth at least $800 image. I just had a bunch of 1937 OPC cards graded and everyone came back in the proper holder. I guess they ran out of holders for you image

I have found that to be happening with several recent ebay purchases. Perhaps the holders are being made slightly larger.
