A modern Lincoln cent question

I have received what appears to be a Red, well struck, high grade 1971-d Lincoln that does no have an "L" in the LIBERTY. There do not seem to be any "tool" marks either.
Does anyone know if there is a recognized "No 'L'" Lincoln cent?

I don't know. But if there is, it should be called the X-mas penny image

No. It's almost certainly a filled die. These can be very interesting especially on well-made examples.

Clad is probably right. I had a Lincoln wheat cent that I sold on Ebay that said on the reverese "UNITED STATES of ERICA". I wonder if an Erica purchased the coin.
