Pete belongs in the HOF, but he needs to back down on his insolance in order to get there. He will always be bigger than life, but has to figure out how to show a little humility to the powers that be in the game. IMO.

Although Chase isn't a Hall Of Famer, his cards are worth a premium over commons, and who knows how high his batting average would have been if he ran out evey at bat. The gamblers knew he could do more to "fix" a game then any player out side of the pitcher.
He was a 1st baseman that could drop a ball as the need arises, and he was 1 of the top hitters on his team. So the irony is, if he played 100% legit, he probably would be a HOF'er today...jay

I completely agree. Apparently he was possibly th finnest defensive first basemen that ever played no offense to " No play for Mr. Grey- Keith Hernadez !
