Bear, I'll leave that up to the dealers to tell you what's hot and what's not. That's their job not a collectors.

    (I know, I know... I'm a few hours late for April 1)
    You shout in your sleep.
Perhaps the price is just too steep.
Is your conscience at rest if once put to the test?
You awake with a start to just the beating of your heart.
Just one man beneath the sky,
Just two ears, just two eyes.

OK, heres a made up report. The show was hotter then we anticipated.

Customers were walking in by ones and twos. I my self saw as many

as one customer at some of the tables. This market is still sizzilingly stagnant.

Dealers in desperation dragged a collective assortment of dull, dipped, scratched

but blast white gems that have been in stock for over 35 years. the total of dead stock

must have weighed in at almost 3 tons of metal. I saw Mark sweating and working furiously.

Saw MikePrinz squirrling away newps to smuggle back to his want list customers. Laura was zipping

around the floor in search of DIMPLE DOLLARS on all of her 16 cylinders. When Laura makes a dealer

an offer they cant refuse, they better not say no. Lauras threats of physical harm are not to be taken

lightly. Mike Defalco sold all of his stock to Laura and then spent the rest of the day looking in his

pockets for some kind of coins he could sell. There were nasty dealers and there were nice dealers.

Saw Rick Tomaska but he kept phasing in and out from the fourth dimension. You know

Length, width, hight and Deep Cameo. All you could hear was Rick calling out Frost, frosty, need frosty.

CC dollars are selling for double gray sheet ask, If you want a nice Barber quarter or half in Gem condition

you will have to mint them yourself. Not too much in the auction. Perhaps 10-12 coins of good value the

rest seem to be cast off bird droppings. Saw a lot of dealers selling their dogs so that they could buy the

other dealers cats. A lot of fluff, fuzz and feathers. Of course the Gray sheet will duly note that prices

remain firm and stable for the time being. Now lets get ready for the next episode of Bizarre World.

It was my first show! It was pretty exciting for me, but pretty scary too. I had my raw duplicate Lincolns with me and gosh, every single dealer gave me a different opinion. On one coin which I considered a borderline ms64rb, I got opinions ranging from "very good chance at 64" to one dealer who looked at me as if I was crazy for thinking it was uncirculated. No one wanted to buy any raw coins though no matter what they thought of it. Yeesh. And also, buying on the internet is mostly fixed prices, no bartering, and so I wasn't used to bartering so much. One dealer had outrageous prices but came down after awhile. I still paid a lot for 1 really nice coin (11-d cent) and another ok one (16-d), so I'm not sure if I should have tried to talk him even lower. I planned on submitting my raw coins to pcgs, but people scared me so much with "problems" I only submitted 2 coins. I still think my other coins are okay and am going to submit them some other time, maybe after more opinions. I got some tremenously nice raw Jefferson Nickels too at the show!

As for what the show seemed like, it did seem pretty empty. I did love looking at some of the really cool coins! I saw and held a gem red 1877 Indian Cent, and I was also really impressed with some fully struck ms66 41-s and 44-s Walkers I saw! Only if they had a nick or two to knock it down to 64 and my price range! I looked at the Lincolns in Superior's auction, and I really loved the 15-d, but don't have the money for it, and the same with the 65rb 23-s. I must have seen 3 or 4 65rb 23-s's at the show, and many 20-s's and others, so it really doesn't seem like 65rb Lincolns are rare. The 23-s in Superior's auction was the best though. As for 64rd Lincolns there were hardly any, and I bought the only three decent ones I saw at the entire show. Anyway, it'd have been nice if I had had more time to gaze upon lots of other cool coins and stuff besides mostly cents, but maybe some other time!
