I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

There is a VERY nice Wilson Franks set (or is it a collection...?) that includes a few PSA 8 o/cs and a whole bunch of 7s. It includes a Williams 7 and an Ennis 7. (Perhaps it is three 9 o/c's it has - including Jablonski). Very nice looking set, it seemed.
And one special applaud to the folks at Mastro: There is a single lot that includes only one 1953 Topps unopened pack - thus giving an opportunity to a second collector to add the coveted pack to their collection. The other 15 packs are in a single lot.
How about this:
1954 Stahl-Meyer Willie Mays PSA 9 MINT

I spotted this one a while back in the SMR, I'm sure I will have fun getting outbid on it
Any T206s? 1950 Bowmans?
This Mastro auction one has not one but TWO complete sets of T206's, one which carries the Magie error. There is also a PSA 1 Wagner and a PSA 6 Plank.
There is an overabundance of high-grade, high-ticket PSA graded cards.

Quite a few HOF PSA 9s - as well as many other 8s from the Southern Find.
A number of nice 1950 Bowmans - I think there is an Early Wynn 10.

That could be good for buyers. With so much quality, the big fish will have their hands full. I just wish it wasn't tax time.
One word:
Extension!
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I'm actually pretty curious as to who is selling and why. I've heard that Tom has been looking to divest a number of his cards. But, looking through many of the 1950s 9s and 10s in this auction - I can trace a large number of them to major auctions from the last three to four years. I am very curious as to who is selling and why (or, if the cards even legitimately sold in the first place....)

I personally look forward to each Mastro auction with great anticipation and I have never been disappointed.
Steve
they certainly have the greatest material but due to their
prices realized.
They spend an inordinate amount of time and money on advertising, not just in the "hobby papers" but in crossover markets. That is one reason why they have become so heavily involved in high-grade, rare coins and Americana.
During the Academy Award presentations, all the presenters are given a large basket of "goodies" from various, exclusive sources such as Gucci, Rolex etc. Several years ago Mastronet had donated signed Joe DiMaggio baseballs to this basket, garnering many positive responses from wealthy sources. This is another way they have promoted their name in a non-hobby market.
They have also exclusive buyers who will only buy (and sell) through Mastronet, mainly due to the relationships they have cultivated over the years. Bill Mastro has been in the hobby since the late 70's, far longer than the head's of the other auction companies. When an old collection becomes available, Bill Mastro gets the call because no one else knows those older collectors, many of who have not actively collected in years. That is why they have more raw cards in there auctions.
I'm drooling now, what with all those T205's; but come closing night the drool will be replaced with "it's going for how much"?
Mastro has actually been around since the late 1960's in the hobby. That is probably a major reason why he always comes up with so much fresh material.
There are other heads of other auction houses that have been around since the 1970's: Lew Lipset, Rob Lifson and Josh Evans come to mind immediately. They all come up with their fair share of fresh stuff also.
Yep....Robert Edward Auctions comes up with some fresh cards and some record-breakers as well.
I don't collect packs or wax boxes, but I will say that it is absolutely amazing how much vintage stuff is being offered here.
i think there has been a consistent pattern of higher prices realized through mastro's
auctions of items that belonged to their principals versus items sold from retail consignors.
even mastro's sales prices of identical psa graded cards that are and have been offered
elsewhere tend to be substantially higher than ebay and superior.heck i bought an
IROD HR jersey from superior in november for 690 vig included and dec 2 the same item
(hr #4 vs hr #3 ) sold for 1400 area.i wonder who "consigned" that one.i dont trust
any mastro auction bid history or any of their ungraded packs.furthermore i give credit
to mastro to the extent that i for one believe the seller(or his agent)in mastro's auctions
is far smarter than any buyer from his auctions.
........plenty of ooohs and aaahs cover to cover this time, unless your looking for 1977 topps or batter-ups
