Anyone ever been paid with an international MO?

Please could someone tell me their experience with money orders from other countries? I have a bidder that wants to pay with an money order. I told him in U.S. funds only and the money order must come from a bank.

  • Talk to your bank. I have had a couple, and my bank (Bank of America) did not have any problems.
Have them send it in US Funds, or you will be stuck paying an exchange fee.

    Good Luck,

Thanks Bob! I don't need to worry now the bidder that wanted to pay via international MO got sniped in the last few seconds. But this is good info to have because I have never had anyone pay with a international MOimage

Check with your bank. Mine seems to be inconsistent. I was charged 5.00 to cash one and not charged at all to cash another.

  • I have been payed with an International MO twice. Both times, my bank gave me no problem with depositing and/or cashing the MO.

I got a counterfeit money order from a guy in the Czech Republic. I called him on it and never heard from him again image. I have processed hundreds of international money orders through my bank and they treat them as just another check. image
