2004 Nickels ---

Anyone else notice how many nicks are on the steps on these 2004 nickels. I picked up a roll the other day from the bank and not a single coin would get the Full Step designation at PCGS. Mint quality has really gone down hill image

As a matter of fact, I can't even see the steps on these image

  • Try mint rolls, you'll be surprised on the quality. image

Someone should offer a $1 billion reward for the first 2004 FULL STEP nickel.image

2004 Nickels with full steps are very rare. I understand PCI is offering a 1 million dollar reward for one with full steps.

I bought a bag of 2004 nickels and looked at them with a 10X loupe. Strange....I couldn't find any steps on them! image They do have a lot of nicks, though.

So what's the strike designation going to be on these coins... full knuckles?
    When in doubt, don't.

We are all joking here but who is to said that there is no 2004 FS nickel out there, I have seen stranger coins. A 2004 Obv. die could have been accidently or intentionally used with a 2003 Rev. die.image

    Look at this coin:

  • That looks like a Sacagawea Planchet struck with a Quarter die..

    Any other opinions?

I got 10 rolls today at the bank
They are just as bad as the 2003 with heavy marks.
    Good strike though (full detail)

My coin above is FP, but does it have to be a full coin too? image
