Coin production figures?

I am interested in looking up U.S. coin production figures for various years, but am having a difficult time finding the information.

Does anyone know if there is a good source for this information?

I have looked on the mint's website, but they only have that information for the past couple years and they only break it down by denomination and mint. I would also like to know what the proof numbers were as well.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Perhaps Whitman's "The Official Red Book" which comes out yearly will have what you're looking for.
