What do you think about the strike on this Lincoln?

I don't know if it's too much to pay for the coin or not, but I sure liked the definition on Abe's beard.

Photos are too dark to tell much of anything, but the strike looks nice and sharp, which would be rather normal for the date. The strike on early Lincolns didn't start going haywire until 1921.

The strike looks nice and full. I have a 1915-D in 64RD right here in front of me with a far worse strike than that coin and a 20-D in 65RD with worn die strike as well. I really would not expect to see a better one.
  • Quite "striking".

I agree with the rest.I think I even see a little mint luster.

I have a 16-d pcgs 64rd with a full beard strike. You can find a picture in the ebay archives of the last two weeks, but the coin was returned to me for it has some toning spots. My other 16-d was struck from slightly worn dies with the beard slightly worn off. I'm going to make it a goal of my set to have all 12 Lincolns 1916-1919, have full beard detail. So far I have such a 17-d,17-s,18-s,19-s! (Full strikes both sides!).

Actually, I somewhat disagree with coppercoins, but it depends on if you count worn dies as strike. Through 1915 strikes and die states are pretty nice, but 1916-1919 have some of the worst coins struck from worn dies. 1916-d for instance may or may not have the beard at all, and almost allways has very weak wheat lines.16-s is sometimes a little weak (like mine) and 17-s can be completely missing the O in One sometimes. Similar problem with 18-d,18-s. 19-d,19-s are pretty good unless the beard has worn off. 20-d is usually very nice, but 20-s should be a major strike rarity like 23-s. Out of all I've seen ever (I've seen at least pictures of every one in auction or in dealers inventories for 1.5 yrs), the ONLY one with a full strike I've seen is the raw 63/64 rb that I own. I think 21-s is actually the best struck mintmarked date until 27-d or 28-s (26-s too seems to be not as bad a strike rarity as people make it out to be).

They came well struck during that period. It looks like a nice coin
but the picture doesn't have the detail to assign a grade.
