    Gulp! Of course Canada was there. That was back when we had convictions, and stood up for our friends image

    I seem to recall a picture of Canadian troops storming one of the beaches at D-Day (Sword Beach? Juno Beach? I forget.) Anyway, they landed with bicycles. There was this picture of these guys pushing their bicycles off the front of the landing craft and through the surf onto the beach.

    There were probably a lot of rusty bicycles in France for years afterward!
