How much is this card worth? pic

trying to acquire this card in a trade and since I don't know anything about vintage and condition and prices I don't want to get ripped off

I'm a little hesitant to make any deal with him since he originally told me this was a 52 Topps Mays and but I at least know what 52 Topps cards look like so that didn't fly

what is this? is it Bowman? could it be a reprint? it looks kind of rough on the corners

That's a 1952 Bowman. The Beckett range on it in VG is $175-$350. I can't tell for sure if it's a reprint, but from the scan it does look like it could be authentic.

Edited to add that this card isn't Willie's rookie card. His rookie card is the 1951 Bowman.
  • Looks like a pretty big horizontal crease running along his arm?

Still a nice card if the price is right.

  • Funny that there's no "s" on his last name...

  • on his arm is that a crease or a vein?

    is that an error?
or is there a story behind this?

  • who knows
  • Don't think it is a vein.

compare it to this card here:

    Mays

hmmm...looks like you're right, I thought it was one of those big veins like Big Mac has! lol

well, doesn't look like we'll be able to close a deal

even though he had "52 mays vg-ex" as the title of the email he sent me, he says the card is much better than vg and $175 is a joke of an offer for it - won't take any less than 300-400 in star or hofer autos, oh well
