proof lincoln wheats?

Did they make proof lincolns in the years 1943 - 1949? Because I have a 1943 lincoln steel cent that I swear is a proof. It has the very sharp rims and is exquisite luster. Can not give you a picture right at this moment, sorry. I was wondering because the price guide does not have proofs listed for those years. So what gives?

No. They were made 1936 to 1942, then again beginning in 1950.

Possibly reprocessed? They often have a flashier look.

What is reprocessed? This coin is flashy.

Reprocessed is where someone outside of the mint, recoated the cent with zinc. The zinc on 1943 steel cents wears off over time and are rezinced to simulate brand new coins.

the reprocessed ones I have seen look like stainless steel silverware - fields are not reflective but are shiny

I had a slightly proof like steel cent a while back. The devices were slightly frosty and the fields were a little reflective. It sure looked good and I'd like another one like that.
